HIGGS RULES JUNIOR CLASSIC

Congratulations to Tony in coaching both winning sides of the A- and B Division.

The Junior Classic took place on 2/3 May 2008.  Most teams arrived Thursday 1 May with some lovely weather in Tweespruit.  This was the end of this weather with Friday and Saturday being miserable, windy and cold.  All the team tents facing straight into the wind and dust, but never the less some excellent polocrosse was played, especially by the lower handicapped juniors.

• Special prize went to Wesley Fourie for his excellent play and match winning performances in the junior section. (Bit sponsored by Bomber)
• Player of the series - Elrie van der Merwe, for her excellent play and her outstanding example as an ambassador to Polocrosse.  Truly an excellent example to all polocrosse players.  (Blanket sponsored by Horseworld and a stick sponsored by Bomber)
• Caley Higgs - special prize by Bomber for her hard work and contribution towards her team – the little tiger!!!!

A – DIVISION

The A-Div was a very close contest,especially between the 3 top sides who all won 2 games and lost 1 each.  Praesidium Finance turning out to be the winners on a count out beating CTM and Somerset Sport. Congratulations to Tony & Lesley Higgs on winning the Jan Vermeulen trophy.

B – DIVISION

The B-Div was a very well balanced division which could easily have been part of the A Div. BP Bedson were the winners with hard contested final against the unlucky PR Worx. Some excellent polocrosse was played by all 3 B-Div sides. Congratulations to Tony and Ken Collett on winning the B-Div.

C – DIVISION

The C-Division standard of play has definitely improved from the previous years. Webtrans eventually came out on top over Border Polocrosse. Congratulations to Charles Halle & De Wet van Reenen on winning the C-Div.
